Hyderabad: With the recent ghar wapsi row in India, where several right wing outfits claiming to convert Christians and Muslims to Hindus, Telangana police chief Anurag Sharma said, anything forced will not be tolerated and nobody would be allowed to take the law into their hands.

During an annual meet, the DGP clarified that as of now, no such forced conversions have been reported.

Christian organisations are now planning to stage a state- level protest in a couple of days, “Such forced reconversions are to be condemned. We are planning to meet Chief Ministers of both the states in a couple of days,” said Gaddapati Vijay Raju, national president for All India Christian Federation.

Members of Vishwa Hindu Parishad claim over 8,000 members in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana state were reconverted to the fold of Hindu religion in last six months, including 1,200 in Hyderabad. But they were not forced, said Mr. Venkatesh, in-charge AP and TS, Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
