Response poor for CRDA plan in Amaravati
Posted May 27th, 2016, 10:15 AM IST
As many as 21,500 pooled farmers had offered their farmlands to the CRDA under Land Pooling Scheme (LPS) for new capital Amaravati establishment.
The pooled farmers were confused with the norms of the CRDA which is restraining from the development reconstituted plots for commercial purposes and are alleging total rights on the land owned by the CRDA.
Further the pooled farmers are asking to resolve the Grama Kantham and other issues before starting the process of reconstituted plots. The CRDA was worried over the poor response and extended the last date to May 30 for submission of applications for reconstituted plots.
A senior CRDA official, on condition of anonymity, has said that only 25 per cent of pooled farmers submitted applications for reconstituted plots and rest of 75 per cent (nearly 16,000) farmers were still not trusting the CRDA. So, they are showing reluctance to submit applications.
The choosing of plots became a life and death question as the pooled farmer cannot change his option once he submits application for plot. The pooled farmers thought of getting plots according to the commercial value of their farmlands but the CRDA decided to allot reconstituted commercial and residential plots on lottery system which also became indigestible to them.
He stated that plots distribution is crucial and important stage towards building world-class new capital Amaravati. So, the CRDA to avoid revolt from 16,000 pooled farmers, extended the last date for the third time.
The CRDA had conducted awareness meetings about the allotment of plots by showing the proposed places through power-point presentation in the majority villages of Amaravati Capital Region but the pooled farmers boycotted those meetings demanding to resolve of their problems first.
Pooled farmer N. Sekhar and others said that they objected to the Floor Space Index (FSI) regulations and CRDA agreed for the same but till date did not issue official orders.
They stated that there is no clarity about bank loans, plan approvals, permissible facilities, plot transfers and Grama Kantham issues. They alleged that the officials were not clearing their doubts.
So they are unwilling to apply for reconstituted plots and demanded the CRDA to resolve their problems. The CRDA extended the last date to May 30 on Thursday but the CRDA competent authority offices were seen empty with the absence of applicants. The CRDA officials are hoping for an increase of applications in a day or two for reconstituted commercial/residential plots.
