Android Lollipop V5.0.1 has a memory eating bug

When Google announced the Android L, fans across the world were waiting eagerly for the launch. When Google officially rolled out the Material Design Android Lollipop, the first users witnessed a handful of issues and bugs, most of them annoying.

While those who flashed their devices with Android Lollipop 5.0 are getting a new update v5.0.1, they will be welcomed by a new issue again.

According to Softpedia, Android Lollipop v5.0.1 too is having a bug, and a bigger one. The report points out to the Google Android Issue Tracker webpage, where Android users and developers are reportedly announcing their issues with the new OS update. Some users claimed that the new update was making the OS eat up almost 1.2MB of the total 2GB RAM, where 500MB was supposed to be the usual amount.

The good news is that Google has accounted for the issue and has marked the thread for ‘FutureRelease’. But no one knows which version of the next update will resolve the problem. As of now, we are certain that Android Lollipop v5.0.2 will not have the bug fix as the new update has already been cited and is available for the Nexus 7 tablets. Hopefully, Google will release the Lollipop v5.0.3 to fix the problem.
