Guntur: MLAs, civil servants, NGOs, gazetted officials and fourth class employees to live in 3,840 plots in 61 towers in Amaravati. As many as 288 flats were allotted to legislators, 144 flats to civil service officials, 1,968 flats to NGOs, 384 flats to gazetted officers-1,336 flats to gazetted officers-2 and 720 flats to fourth class employees. These housing complexes were proposed at Rayapudi and Nelapadu of Amaravati.

APCRDA handed over the lands to the contractor and primary work on the site has been started. The plan is to complete the construction of the 61 towers with twelve floors in each tower by January 2019. Since the High Court, CMO, Raj Bhavan, permanent Secretariat, CM residence, permanent Assembly and other government administration offices were proposed at Rayapudi on the banks of the Krishna River, the housing complexes of the legislators and all India officers were also proposed at Rayapudi.

The work of officials' housing complexes has started at Rayapudi. The contractors L&T Construction, Shapoorji and Pallonji and NCC have started the work of ministers and legislators’ housing complex at Rayapudi with tower cranes, hydraulic rigs, bar tending and cutting machines and other equipments. APCRDA officials stated the 432 flats for ministers, legislators and civil services officials will be constructed in 18 towers with 12 floors in each tower. The basic construction work was started at Rayapudi. All the housing complexes of NGOs, gazetted officers and fourth class employees would be housed in towers of 12 floors.

On the other side the work of Amaravati capital seed access road has gained momentum. The APCRDA proposed seven main roads in phase 1 and eleven main roads under phase 2 in Amaravati. The construction work of seven main roads have started. The roads would connect to the main Amaravati roads from various directions in the Amaravati Capital Region.

The APCRDA has removed 144 houses at Rayapudi for Amaravati seed capital access road, allotted plots under rehabilitation and started developing the rehabilitation colony with road and other basic amenities. The old damaged roads connecting to the villages in Amaravati have been a source of angst for the public. Tullur, Krishnayapalem, Rayapudi, Abbarajupalem, Borupalem, Sakhamuru, Nekkallu, Penumaka, Ainavolu, Uddandarayunipalem, Nidamarru and adjacent areas of Amaravati will get good connectivity with the construction of the seven roads.
