Opposition has neglected cyclone victims: N Chandrababu Naidu

Visakhapatnam: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has criticised the Opposition for not supporting the victims of Cyclone Titli in Srikakulam district. “They are busy in organising political meetings at other places of the state,” he claimed.

Though Mr Naidu has written to the Prime Minister seeking Rs 1,200 crore as interim relief, there was no response from the Union government till now. He questioned the Centre’s indifference to the cyclone-affected districts in the state.

Moreover, the CM claimed that Income Tax raids were being carried out in Vijayawada targeting the companies and educational institutions of TD leaders as retaliation for coming out of the alliance.

He alleged that Union home minister Rajnath Singh has attended political meeting at Vijayawada, but he has no time to visit the cyclone-affected districts.

At present, the BJP leader is in Guntur to lay foundation stone for the new party office in the city.

Mr Naidu also criticised Opposition leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for not visiting the cyclone-hit areas.
of Srikakulam. “Jagan will pause his padayatra to attend court, but cannot reschedule it to see the condition of Titli victims,” he said.

“While ministers and administration officials were struggling like a common man, Opposition leaders have criticised them for not providing any relief measures,” he said.

Meanwhile, the TD leaders criticised Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan for doing ‘Kavathu’ at Dowaleswaram Barrage from Kovvur town in West Godavari district without even bothering about the cyclone victims in North Andhra.
