Haryana government orders probe into reports of missing files of Robert Vadra-DLF land deals

Chandigarh: The Haryana government on Friday ordered a probe into the reports of the missing files of Robert Vadra-DLF land deals.

The file is related to a committee formed by the previous Hooda-led Congress government to examine the mutation of Vadra-DLF deal. Later, the committee gave clean chit to the deal and chargesheeted IAS officer Ashok Khemka, who had cancelled it.

Two years ago, Mr Khemka, the then director general of land consolidation, cancelled the deal citing irregularities.

In an affidavit, state public information officer D.R. Wadhwa claimed that the file noting leading to the decision to constitute the inquiry committee on the orders of the chief secretary on October 19, 2012, is “detached from the main file and cannot be traced”.

The affidavit has been filed before the state information commission (SIC) in response to Mr Khemka’s appeal seeking the notings on the file.

The whistleblower IAS officer had moved the SIC after the personnel department denied these documents to him which he required to prepare his defence in the chargesheet against him.

Mr Khemka has asked the chief secretary on Tuesday seeking directions for registration of an FIR against all people in the office of the former CM.

Chief secretary P.K. Gupta said, “We are trying to reconstruct the file because six-seven months back somebody other than Mr Khemka asked for information under RTI. We are approaching the information commissioner’s office to see if a copy of that is available.”
