Hyderabad: The 6,500 residents of Dilsukhnagar and JPR colony Old Bowenpally Balanagar, adjacent to Indian Drugs and Pharmaceutical Limited (IDPL) Housing Colony, do not have an approach road to the main connecting route, as these colonies are surrounded by IDPL land.

“Since the land to be acquired for laying of the road belongs to IDPL, there should be an allotment of about 600 meter of IDPL land to the state government.

Several representations to the Ranga Reddy district collector have failed,” say the RWAs. A letter regarding the same has been sent to Ananth Kumar, minister for chemicals and fertilisers.

Md. Ibrahim, president of Dilsukhnagar RWA said, “Dilsukhnagar is an enclave (survey no 24) surrounded by the IDPL township on the west and north, defence establishments to the east and BHEL to the south. We have no road access.

The 6,500 residents need two roads, one of about 1-km length to connect Dilsukhnagar with the Balanagar-Narsapur road, this road will run through IDPL land.

The second road is 2-km long, connecting Dilsukhnagar with Ferojguda through the defence land on the east.”

The only solution is the government acquiring 600 meter of land from IDPL for the road, which is then duly developed by GHMC.
