Tamil film fraternity mourns for Jayalalitha

To mourn the death of Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalitha, the Producers’ Council of the Tamil film industry called off all shooting schedules for one day. All plans for filming on Tuesday were cancelled. The decision was made unanimously by all the members of the council.

In addition, the head of the council. Kalaipuli S Thanu expressed his condolences for the tragic event.

“The death of Amma is not a loss just for Tamil Nadu and its people, it is a huge loss for the whole world,” he said in a statement.

The Nadigar Sangam also came forward to respond to the death of the leader. Actor Nasser, the president of the association, said, “It is not just one person who has left us, it is a legacy that has abandoned us. A history has come to an end! She has excelled as a dancer, an actor, and as a leader of the state. She has reached the highest position in all the roles she has played.”

He further added, “As a senior member of the association, she has always cared for our actors. Her power and deeds will take us forward forever.”
