Ritu Varma seems to be the new favourite post the success of Pelli Choopulu. While it was inevitable in Telugu films, what’s really surprising is the response she has got from Tamil filmmakers. The actress has been signing several important Tamil films off late. While she has been working on the Vikram-starrer Dhruva Natchatiram, the latest she has worked on is Dhanush’s VIP 2.

“Her role will be similar to that of Surbhi in Raghuvaran B.Tech (the prequel to the film) and is an important one. It’s a short role but it wouldn’t be fair to call it a cameo. It’s more of an extended cameo,” shares a source in the know.

A glimpse of Ritu was seen in the trailer of the film, which also stars Bollywood actress Kajol as the prime antagonist.
