Spyder collects Rs 45 crore on day one

Mahesh Babu’s mystery-thriller successfully weaved its web at the box office on Wednesday, despite opening to mixed reviews. The film collected a record Rs 45 crore throughout the world. Apart from Telugu, the film was released in Tamil and Malayalam.

Directed by A.R. Murugudoss, the film has some dark shades and belongs to a comparatively different genre.

After the high overseas collections, which surprised everyone, trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “Almost $ 1 mn on a working day (Tue) in the US — a feat very few Indian films/actors can boast of. Indeed, #SPYder/Mahesh Babu hv cast a spell!, (sic).”

It was, in fact, reported that the film collected $1,005,630 ( Rs 6.59 crore) from 236 locations internationally. And with the Dasara holidays back home, the makers are expecting higher collections in the coming days.
