Common man is not a fool, won’t ape the stars: Naveen

Actor-director Naveen, who made his Kollywood debut with the dark comedy Moodar Koodam, has finished shooting his next film, Allaudinin Arputha Camera, without a word getting out about the project!

The new-age filmmaker now reveals that the film, a fantasy adventure thriller shot entirely in Europe, features himself in the lead, with Anandhi playing his romantic interest.

He’s also taken a rather contentious stance by coming out in support of Vijay with regard to the Sarkar smoking controversy.

“We have to start respecting the common man’s maturity level and intellect. He’s smart enough to make his own decisions. He is not a fool, and he won’t start smoking after watching a star do it. Booze came into existence before art did. And why target one star?” Naveen says.

He’s also tweeted, “Let’s debate, not argue. Don’t abuse. We already have a lot of fools for that,” probably after receiving a lot of criticism for his views.
