MPME dragged into censor issues

The makers of Maraindhiruthu Paarkkum Marmam Enna have lashed out at the Censor Board after being denied certification. “The movie has a big social message, and those who sit on the board do not understand the sensitivity of the script. They’ve simply ordered several cuts and even denied certification,” said director Rakesh, a former associate of Mohan Raja, at a promotional event for the film.

The film, which stars Dhruva, Aishwarya Dutta, and Anjana Prem, deals with serious crimes, including chain-snatchings in the city.

At the event, actor Dhruva said, “People came to know about the film only after it was dragged into a controversy due to the censor board. Saranya ma’am plays my mother in the film. In fact, she has lived her character. I hope I have done justice to my role as well.”

The film has been produced by Madhiyazhagan. P.G. Muthaiah is the cinematographer, and Achchu has composed music for it.
