Kakinada: A married minor, in her fifth month of pregnancy was allegedly raped by four youth, three of whom are minors, at Ramachandrapuram village of Pedapadu mandal in West Godavari district.

The accused filmed the act on their mobile phones and circulated the clip among themselves.

The woman lodged a complaint with Pedapdu police late on Saturday night.

According to Eluru DSP K.G.V. Saritha, one of the rapists knew the victim, who is under 18 years of age, from her school days. The woman belongs to Rajahmundry and she had married an autorickshaw driver 10 months ago.

Ms Saritha said that the victim’s ‘friend’ forced himself on her and then told his three friends who blackmailed her and raped her. One of the accused filmed the act on his mobile phone and exchanged the clip with the other accused.

Mustering courage, the woman lodged a complaint with the Padapadu police. Ms Saritha said that the victim was a minor as she was yet to turn 18.

The DSP said that the incident occurred over 25 days ago. She said that the victim was sent to government hospital at Eluru for medical tests.

Ms Saritha said that cases have booked against the accused under the POSCO Act under Sections 376 D, 354C and IPC 506. Pedapadu police registered a case and began investigating.
