Mumbai: It was speculated that Ranbir Kapoor and his lady love Katrina Kaif set out on a romantic getaway to Austria to celebrate her birthday in July. However there were different reasons for their trip.

According to reports Ranbir apparently checked into a health spa during his visit to Austria, to help him kick the butt. Last year pictures of the actor smoking in a secret hideout during the Indian Super League matches surfaced on the internet. During the shooting for 'Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani' was accused of violating the Rajasthan Prevention of Smoking Act and was even fined for the same.

Director Aditya Chopra reportedly recommended the health centre, which specialises in a special treatment to help chain-smokers get rid of the habit. Both Aditya and his wife Rani are frequent visitors of the centre for detox and beauty treatments.

According to reports Ranbir and Katrina visited the centre before her birthday, and spent almost a week there. On the work front, both Ranbir and Katrina have a number of projects lined up for release. While Kat gears up for the release of ‘Phantom’, Ranbir recently wrapped up shooting for his film ‘Tamasha’.
