Sydney: Mahendra Singh Dhoni – the former Test captain of India who announced retirement after the third Test against Australia in Melbourne – joined the team during their training session ahead of the Sydney Test. Team Director Ravi Shastri’s announcement that the former captain is on stand-by for Wriddhiman Saha led to further speculation whether he will come out of retirement to play the last tie.

The fans saw the 33-year-old doing his usual stretching exercises. However, it was not only sweat for the Indian cricketers, they also clicked ‘selfies’ with spectators who came to catch a glimpse.

On the other hand, Mitchell Starc has replaced the injured Mitchell Johnson for this Test. India captain Virat Kohli tweeted that his journey as a captain is a new vision for the team and not just for himself alone. He also expressed surprise at Dhoni's sudden retirement.
