Bhatti says Rahuls fight a freedom struggle

Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Bhatti Vikramarka on Sunday said Rahul Gandhi’s fight against Narendra Modi government is akin to the freedom struggle, which Congress had launched against the British.

“Indian democracy is in danger. By disqualifying Rahul Gandhi as member of the Lok Sabha, the BJP-led government at the centre is trying to intimidate the entire opposition,” the CLP leader stated, while speaking at a Sankalpa Deeksha at Buruguda village in Asifabad mandal in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district.

Bhatti Vikramarka halted his 11th day Haath Se Haath Jodo Yatra at Buruguda on Sunday as part of AICC’s call to observe the day as Sankalpa Deeksha to protect democracy in India that is being undermined by the BJP.

The CLP leader maintained that BJP has picked up a wrong person to threaten, as Rahul Gandhi belongs to a family of martyrs whose father and mother have sacrificed their lives for the country’s unity and integrity.

DCC president Vishwaprasad Rao, Mancherial DCC chairperson Kokkirala Surekha, PCC state general secretary Marsakola Saraswati and senior Congress leaders Chilumula Shankar and Ravi Srinivas were present.

Sankalpa Deekshas were also observed at various places in the erstwhile Adilabad district in which senior Congress leaders participated.
