TDP's Age Old Demand Ended Up As A Joke

The demand by the TDP for NTR to be awarded the Bharat Ratna has become a joke. The TDP leaders made this decision during the mini Mahanadu event held in Hyderabad.

NTR's son, Nandamuri Balakrishna, expressed his surprise that the central government has not yet honored NTR with this prestigious award. He questioned who else could be more deserving of this recognition than his father.

Interestingly, the demand to confer the Bharat Ratna on NTR has been ongoing for some time but tends to surface only when the TDP is in opposition rather than in power.

Chandrababu Naidu's stance on this matter is quite peculiar. During his tenure as Chief Minister, he never actively pressured the central government to bestow the Bharat Ratna on NTR. This demand was not raised even during his alliance with the NDA from 2014 to 2018.

Even when Chandrababu boasted of having influence in national politics, he showed no inclination to pursue the Bharat Ratna for NTR. It is only when he finds himself in the opposition that he raises the issue of the Bharat Ratna.

Furthermore, considering that NTR's daughter, Daggubati Purandeshwari, is actively involved in the BJP, one may wonder why she has not been successful in securing this recognition for her father.

Although they managed to release a commemorative coin featuring NTR's image with great effort, obtaining further recognition remains a challenge.
