Melbourne: Australia declared at 318/9 on the fifth and final day of the third Test match against India at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Shaun Marsh missed his ton by a whisker, he was dismissed for 99 (run out: Virat Kohli). The target set for India is 384.

Murali Vijay, who has been impressive in the series, failed to create magic on Tuesday. He fell prey to Josh Hazlewood in front of the stumps. Shikhar Dhawan was sent back to the pavilion by Ryan Harris for a duck.

Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane started from where they left but soon after tea, Ryan Harris got the better of the Indian vice-captain. Cheteshwar Pujara has joined Rahane in the middle.
