Adelaide: India made a possitive start in the post-tea session as debutant Karn Sharma dismissed David Warner after Australia won the toss in the first Test against India at the Adelaide Oval on Tuesday.

David Warner put his grief over the death of close friend Phillip Hughes aside to give Australia a flying start in the emotional opening Adelaide Test against India on Tuesday.

Lunch interval or tea break did not slow down David Warner who continued to score at brisk rate, crossing the boundary rope at will and with consistency. The left-hander raised his 10th Test century as he powered Australia to a powerful start in the opening Test of the series.

Michael Clarke, on the other hand, had his moments of discomfort in the middle in post-lunch session. However, the Australian captain still managed to hit some wonderfully-timed fours.

The aggressive left-hander brought up his tenth Test hundred in 106 balls. While Warner had his share of hundreds in the past, none would be as emotional as the one he scored at the Adelaide today.

Michael Clarke too completed his half-century. However, the Australian captain had to return to the dressing room as his sore back troubled him after he tried to duck under an Ishant Sharma bouncer. The medical staff came out to help Clarke but that did not help much as Clarke had to leave the field in a lot of pain.
