Saketh Myneni: The comeback man of tennis

Hyderabad: Saketh Myneni, 27, brought home the mixed-doubles gold following his partnership with Sania Mirza at the Asian Games held at South Korea.

This year has been obviously great then. “This year has been my most successful one. I got the opportunity to get the wild card entry at the Chennai Open Doubles, and that is where it all started. I paired up with a young player from Russia and we made it to the semis at the Chennai Open and then I got the chance to represent India at the Davis Cup earlier this year. Every thing changed after that,” he says, adding, “I wanted to make a comeback in competitive tennis, so I went to train in US. After that I got a call from Davis Cup again and for the first time in Indian history we beat Korea in their own country!”
