Katthi (Raj Tarun), who is weak at studies and fails in intermediate exams, is floored by the beauty of Parineeta (Avika). Daughter of a Government official, Parineeta is a state rank holder in intermediate and studies in a top engineering college. He joins her college by duping the college Principal to impress her. Initially she refuses his proposal but later falls for his ‘heroic’ deeds.

Parineeta’s father hates any person who doesn’t have class or who fails to maintain “quality” in thoughts. Quality is his catch phrase. When he comes to know that his daughter loves an unqualified guy, he throws a challenge at Katthi. If Katthi bears all the expenses of their household for a month by earning through work, he would give away his daughter’s hand. Will Katthi accept the challenge?

Remember that funny episode involving Prakash Raj and Allu Arjun in “Race Gurram”? In that movie, Prakash Raj has played rich father of Shruti Haasan who falls in love with a middleclass unemployed guy Allu Arjun.

When Prakash Raj tells Allu Arjun that he doesn’t suit his daughter, Allu Arjun makes Prakash Raj’s life miserable with his acts and also sings a song – Cinema Choopista Maava. This sub story from “Race Gurram” is developed into a full script by the writer-director Trinadha Rao Nakkina and he has also used the song as the title. In the place of Allu Arjun, we have Raj Tarun here.

Story has no logic, no surprises, despite that the movie doesn’t provide dull moments. You can enjoy the fun till it lasts.

The comedy tracks are also familiar, yet it provides enough entertainment. The oft-repeated, beaten-to-death Draupadi Vastrapaharanam comedy play is effectively used in providing good laughs. Harmless comedy is what it offers.

Apart from comedy, the movie has nothing to talk about. All the situations in the movie happen as per the convenience of the director. An engineering college Principal thinking some 12th standard failed guy as his college student and allowing him to do all stage plays is beyond the logic.

Rao Ramesh is shown as Bengali Babu settled in Hyderabad but strangely his relatives from Kolkota also speak in coastal Andhra Telugu accent fluently with right modulation. Post interval, we never see heroine going to college though the story is happening with a month’s period.

But as they say, never mind about the logic when you are being entertained. On that note, it can be said Cinema Choopista Mava is fairly fun film. A time-pass entertainer aimed at mass audiences.
