Hyderabad: Commuters from Safilguda, East and West Anandbagh and Malkajgiri travelling to Hitec City in first class MMTS compartments complain of travelers with ‘General’ ticket or passes boarding the compartments every day, while ticket checkers and security guards are rarely spotted during working hours to lodge complaint.
V. Suresh Kumar, resident of Anandbagh working at Aurobindo Pharmacy, Miyapur, said, “I stand at the entrance of the compartment and tell people that it is ‘first class,’ but they still barge in. Commuters purchase first class tickets to avoid the rush and to get seats. What is the use if general category passengers enter the compartment with ordinary passes? There should be different colours to identify first class compartments.”
Most travelers also complain that punctuality is MMTS trains is a big problem.
“Every day the MMTS arrives late and often only one MMTS is available so commuters enter whichever compartment is vacant, irrespective of the class. The security and the TTS are always absent. Commuting in MMTS from Falaknuma to Hitec City is no less than a nightmare. During working hours there is always a heavy rush due to which travelers, including women, travel on the footboard,” added Arvind Shetty, a resident of Seethaphalmandi.
On many occasions people have fallen off moving trains due to the rush.
The South Central Railway authorities state that passengers can lodge a complaint on the toll free number 1322 and their grievances to 8121281212 with details of the station and the train.
