New Delhi: A cold wave, accompanied by heavy fog, disrupted rail and air traffic across northern India Sunday, with the minimum temperature dipping below normal at several places. Delhi recorded its lowest temperature in the past five years, the mercury dipping to 2.6ºC Celsius, five notches below normal.

The maximum was 18.3ºC Celsius, two notches below normal.Flights were virtually paralysed at IGI Airport Sunday morning after visibility dropped. It was the first major disruption this winter. At least 55 flights were delayed, while three international flights got diverted. More than 80 trains were running late in the region.
