Farms burned in the anti anti-land pooling villages in Guntur

Guntur: In a bizarre incident, some unidentified men have burned bamboo stocks, vegetable gardens, grass and huts in the farm fields of anti-land pooling villages of Tullur, Rayapudi, Penumaka, Undavalli, Lingayapalem, Uddandarayunipalem and Mandam, in the early hours on Monday.

The villagers of Penumaka said that around 20 youths were seen going into the fields and suspected that they might have burned the fields.

Rajadhani Rythula Samanyava Committee president, Mallela Seshagiri Rao has alleged that pro land pooling forces may have been involved in the farm’s burning incidents to create fear among the anti land pooling farmers.

He demanded that the government must take action with the local ruling party to curb the increasing fear among the villagers. He also demanded that stern action should be taken against the culprits.

The committee is conducting meetings in the village to bring awareness about the effects of land pooling among farmers, but the Telugu Desam leaders and supporters are against these meetings and alleged that to stop their protests, the government is promoting farm field devastations.

The Guntur police led by rural SP, PHD Ramakrishna and urban SP, Rajesh Kumar, are conducting an inquiry.
