Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao inducts two new secretaries

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday appointed TRS Husnabad MLA Vodithela Satish Kumar and Tungathurthi MLA Gadiri Kishore as parliamentary secretaries taking the total number to six. They were also allocated portfolios as Mr Rao distributed subjects to all the parliamentary secretaries on Monday. Jalagam Venkat Rao and D. Vinay Bhaskar will be attached to the Chief Minister’s Office, while

Vodithela Satish Kumar was allotted to the education minister. Gadari Kishore Kumar, Srinivas Goud and Kova Laxmi have been allotted to the health minister, revenue minister and agriculture minister respectively.

In a bid to appease the ministerial aspirants, the CM came up with the idea of appointing parliamentary secretaries, which had been prevalent during the Channa Reddy government. He also gave nominated posts to some other legislators.

The state Cabinet recently approved an Ordinance bringing the system of parliamentary secretaries. As per the Act, Mr Rao himself will administer oath to all the parliamentary secretaries.
