Telangana: Students protest new exam paper system

Hyderabad: Students belonging to the Telangana Nirudyoga Vidyarthi JAC staged a protest on Tuesday alleging that a new examination method could give rise to bias. The protest was staged near the Arts College in Osmania University.

The students said the roll number and answer sheets of students used to be on OMR sheets which could then be separated before sending answer sheets for marking. But this time, they were on the same exam sheet and the students say that could result in bias creeping into the selection of a candidate.

However, the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) had, before conduct of the examination, said the new system will not cause any partiality in the selection of candidates.

The protesters also raised the problem of malfunctioning biometric attendance systems which they said was affecting students at several examination centers.
