Mumbai: Central Railway train services in Mumbai experienced severe trouble due to technical failure followed by a major protest on Friday morning. The overhead wire snapped near Thakurli station, causing major inconvenience.

Meanwhile, passengers torched two vehicles and blocked tracks at the Diva station in Mumbai. The police had to resort to lathicharge to control the angry passengers.

The protestors even engaged in stone pelting and damaged station property.

However, police now claim that the situation has been brought under control. The incident took place after the train services stopped for over 30 minutes.

Devendra Fadnavis, the Chief Minister has asked for a high level probe in the matter.
