Fishing boat from Pakistan blows up near Gujarat coast

Ahmedabad: A boat reportedly from Pakistan has blown itself up, off the Gujarat coast, according to television reports.
The fishing vessel was allegedly intercepted and chased by the Coast Guard off the coast of Porbandar on the night of December 31 and January 1.
As reported, the boat was full of explosives. Four people were on board, when the boat was spotted.
According to the government statement, "Intelligence based midnight operation was conducted on the intervening night of December 31 and AJnuary 1by the Indian coastguard ships and aircraftto intercept a suspect fishing boat in Arabian Sea near Indo-Pak maritime boundary, approximately 365 km from Porbander."
