Pawan attacks BJP, goes soft towards TDP!

Notwithstanding the repression unleashed by the Telugu Desam Party government in Andhra Pradesh headed by N Chandrababu Naidu on the silent rally in Visakhapatnam on Thursday demanding special category status to the state, power star-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan continued to go soft towards Naidu and attack mostly Bharatiya Janata Party.

Addressing a press conference in Hyderabad, a day after the unsuccessful attempt of the Vizag beach rally, Pawan Kalyan focussed mostly on attacking the BJP. Though he made some critical remarks on Naidu for going back on the special category status issue and compromising on it, he even attributed Naidu’s failures to the arm-twisting tactics of the BJP.

Describing the TDP government in AP as a mini-BJP, Pawan wanted to know why Naidu was afraid of the BJP government at the Centre.

“People want to know why you are scared of raising your voice against the Central government,” he said.

He said he was supporting Naidu because he had amazing administrative experience and appreciating his efforts to make AP a Singapore, but he wondered why he was encouraging leaders like Sujana Chowdary and Rayapati.

Several BJP and TDP leaders are now questioning his `political experience’ for raising issues, Pawan wondered why they didn’t raised this question when he extended support to them in 2014.

Pawan also attacked the Centre for ignoring the south and warned that South India will rebel against the North-centric elite leadership of the BJP.

He reminded that Jallikattu protests in Tamil Nadu were reaction of Narendra Modi’s attempt to take control of the state politics following the sudden demise of Jayalalithaa.

Strongly objecting Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu’s assertion that `Special Category Status’ was a `closed chapter’, Pawan advised him to focus more on the people of the state rather than on Swarna Bharathi Trust, which his daughter runs.

He felt had Venkaiah Naidu shows a part of interest now showing for the trust, Special Category might be realised by now.
