3 fires hit Hyderabad, forex office gutted

Hyderabad: The corporate office of Thomas Cook Forex at Lakdikapul was gutted in a fire accident on Sunday night. District fire officer M. Srinivas Reddy said four fire tenders were sent to douse the blaze in the office that is located on the first floor of the G+2 building. “The security guard did not notice the fire,” he said.

The fire brigade was called in by the Special Protection Force from the Reserve Bank of India, who also started fighting the fire. A short circuit is suspected. In another incident, a car was gutted near Karachi Bakery in Banjara Hills. Traffic came to a standstill. Banjara Hills Police registered a case based on the complaint filed by the victim.

On Monday evening, a scrap-cum-timber godown was damaged in a fire. The godown near Nice Hotel in Vattepally caught fire at about 5 pm. Mr Srinivas Reddy said the fire was controlled by 6 pm.
