Hyderabad: The GHMC elections will witness a strong TRS taking on the Telugu Desam-BJP combine and the Congress with the induction of Sanathnagar MLA Talasani Srinivas Yadav.
The TRS is planning to strengthen its base in Hyderabad and woo settlers going by the four Cabinet berths that the city got so far. With the induction of Mr Srinivas Yadav as a minister, the number of ministers from Hyderabad has increased to four.
The three others are Deputy CM Mohd Mahmood Ali (MLC), home minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy (MLC) and excise minister T. Padma Rao (Secunderabad MLA).
“I thank the Chief Minister for inducting me into the Cabinet. I will strive to develop the image of Telangana people, KCR, TRS and the government. It is nothing new for me to contest and get elected.
I am confident that the Sanathnagar Assembly constituency people will understand this and will bless me again,” Mr Srinivas Yadav remarked. Before taking oath as the minister, Mr Yadav resigned as the Sanath-nagar MLA since he was elected on the Telugu Desam ticket and faces a petition under the Anti-Defection Law.
Interestingly, neighbours in the past from Ghasmandi in Secunderabad, T. Padma Rao and T. Srinivas Yadav are in the KCR ministry. While Mr Padma Rao continues to stay in the same locality, Mr Srinivas Yadav shifted to West Marredpally.
Mr Chandrasekhar Rao will now have to make the best of two strong mass leaders T Padma Rao and T. Srinivas Yadav in Hyderabad. Mr Yadav as the Sanathnagar MLA held several meetings in various localities in his constituency, especially in settlers’ strong holds to assure them of full protection. The emergence of the TRS in Hyderabad will be the main task for both Padma Rao and Srinivas Yadav.
