Hyderabad: Parts of Nizamabad district experienced a hailstorm on Wednesday evening. While they brought down the temperature, the hail and strong winds damaged corn and soya bean crops in Navipet and Maklur mandal.

Mango trees were also damaged in the storm that lasted for half an hour. Trees and electrical poles were uprooted along the highways. Power supply was cut off in half the mandals. Elsewhere some areas experienced rain. The Met forecast till March 18 was light to moderate rain or thundershowers at isolated places over the state.
