Farmers stir against ONGC

Rajahmundry: Farmers laid siege to ONGC’s assets for the second consecutive day, disrupting its exploration operation at Pasarlapudi village of Mamidikuduru mandal in East Godavari demanding compensation for crop loss.

Farmer leader Kola Satyanarayana said that nearly 215 farmers lost their first crop in about 145 acres land since 2008.

The ONGC authorities compensated the farmers in 2010, but after that it stopped, they claimed.

The ONGC authorities said that the district authorities have not approached them for fresh relief to farmers
