Hyderabad: While parents of engineering students lament that colleges affiliated to Osmania University are conducting supplementary and main exams the same day, university officials say that this is the pattern of the examination and students need to prepare for both. The university says that it cannot hold them separately.

Moreover, parents say that the results of revaluation exams have not been announced yet for the first semester of second year engineering students while the university started conducting the supplementary exams.

Officials at the university agrees that there has been a delay in announcement of results of revaluation due to some internal issues. They say the teaching staff has been quite busy with their regular duties as well as practical exams. The examination cell of Osmania University say that these results will be announced within 48 hours.

Syed Saifuddin, father of an engineering student in one of the reputed city colleges, said, “Students have to appear for the supplementary exams and the main exams on the same day in the morning and in the afternoon sessions.”

Mr Kumar Controller of Examination at the university said, “We could not release the revaluation results on time. Generally we announce the results before the commencement of the supplementary exams. I request parents to maintain some patience. To cut down the number of days examinations are conducted, we have clubbed the main and supplementary exams on the same day.”
