Tech for labour welfare: Bandaru Dattatreya

Hyderabad: Union minister for labour Bandaru Dattatreya on Sunday said the Central government is all set to modernise all the 115 ESI hospitals in country with an allotment of Rs 1,100 crore and is committed to bring in more labour-friendly reforms.

Addressing a media conference on Sunday, the Union minister said that the wage ceiling has been increased from Rs 6,500 to Rs 15,000 per month for every employee.

Listing out various schemes aimed at increasing industrial productivity without causing retrenchment, Mr Dattatreya said on-line monitoring and providing unique ID cards to all labourers are being given priority across the country.

“We have decided to use the latest technology for labour welfare. Several steps have been taken to be employer-friendly,” he added.
