Telangana government to probe standoff in Secretariat

Hyderabad: The TS government has ordered an inquiry into the standoff between employees of the Secretariat branch and state union on the Secretariat premises on July 5. On a complaint lodged by NGOs of Secretariat branch, TS Chief Secretary S.P. Singh has asked special chief secretary, energy department, Ajay Mishra to inquire into the incident and submit a report to the government.

In the complaint, TNGOs Secretariat branch president G. Srinivas Reddy and secretary N. Suresh Kumar said that on July 5, when they gathered in ‘D’ block conference hall, some the members of Telangana Secretariat association came to the dais and took the mike away from them and threatened them with dire consequences if they continued with the meeting.

They alleged that they were warned that without their leader nobody should conduct any meeting in the Secretariat premises and alleged that an attempt to assault them physically was made. The TNGOs of Secretariat Branch requested the Chief Secretary to provide accommodation in Room No. 343, D block to avoid further nuisance. In another letter to the CS, they said that TNGOs union secretariat branch has provided Room No. 310 in D block but this has been occupied by the housing society directors from both AP and TS.
