Vijayawada: YSRC leaders are under pressure from party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy over the poor response in registrations in north coastal districts for YSR Kutumbam.
He would be interacting with leaders like Mr Botsa Satyanarayana and Mr Dharmana Prasada Rao in this regard.
Though the YSR Kutumbam got nearly 50 lakh registrations in 11 days, the party chief’s focus is more on north coastal districts.
The proposed meeting of YSRC in Vijayawada on Tuesday will see pressure exerted on three former MLAs — Malladi Vishnu, Vellampalli Srinivas and Vangaveeti Radha — in the capital region.
Mr Reddy has analysed the data provided by the team of election strategist Prashant Kishor about households covered under YSR Kutumbam, and he was surprised to note that only 62,927 households (1.9 per cent) were covered in Vizianagaram district.
Similarly, in Srikak-ulam and Visakhapa-tnam, the households covered were 1,79,694 (5.4 per cent), and 1,67,126 (5.1 per cent).
In Krishna district, 1,73,164 households (5.2 per cent) were covered. Comparing the Krishna coverage with that of Visakhapatnam, the party chief reportedly asked the district party in-charges and important leaders to analyse the failure in registrations and wanted a detailed report.
With 4,96,620 households covered, Prakasam district gave Mr Reddy a big relief with 15 per cent coverage and Anantapur and Guntur districts took the next two places with 4,08,117 (12.4 per cent) and 3,95,893 (12 per cent) households, respectively.
In Chittoor, the Chief Minister’s home district. 2,86,959 (8.7 per cent) households covered and in the YSRC chief’s Kadapa district, 1,46,111 (4.4 per cent). as per the statistics provided by the PK team.
The houses covered in East Godavari were 3,27,679 (9.9 per cent), Kurnool 1,57,682 (4.6 per cent), Nellore 2,38,528 (7.2 per cent), and West Godavari district 2,67,495 (8.1 per cent).
The YSRC chief is happy with the coverage in Chittoor district in first phase but reportedly expressed dissatisfaction over the registrations in the rest of Rayalaseema. The YSRC president expects the count to reach one crore by the time the second phase completes.
