Hyderabad: A teenager doing intermediate course was allegedly sexually exploited by her college lecturer, police said on Wednesday. Following a complaint from the victim, police registered a case against the lecturer and started efforts to arrest him.

Investigation is on to know if the accused had harassed or blackmailed other girls in the past too. The incident occurred at Iqbalia Junior College at Hayathnagar, where the victim was sexually exploited for over five months, police said.





The victim in her complaint to the police alleged that the physics lecturer blackmailed her saying he would deduct marks in the practical examination if she resisted or complained.

The accused had also asked her to send some of her intimate pictures on WhatsApp. The teenager at first slipped into depression, but finally mustered the courage to tell her parents of the ordeal. Her parents immediately approached the police. Meanwhile, the college management suspended the lecturer and launched an inquiry.
