Himayathnagar: Man hurls shoe at Tollywood actress Tamannaah Bhatia

Hyderabad: The Naryanaguda police arrested a BTech graduate for hurling his shoes, one after the other, at actress Tamannaah Bhatia at Himayathnagar, where she was inaugurating a jewellery store on Sunday afternoon.

According to sources, the inauguration event started around noon and a huge crowd had gathered around the place as the news of Tamannaah’s presence spread.

The actress was addressing the public when the man hurled his shoes at her, but missed hitting her. He continued to stand in the crowd but security personnel and the cops at the venue noticed that he was without shoes and nabbed him.

“The man, identified as Kareemullah, was allegedly agitated following the actress’s bad performance in movies,” said police inspector B. Ravindar.

One of the security personnel told Deccan Chronicle, “We had a security team, bouncers and police protection for the event. It happened within seconds. We bouncers were indoors and the actress was taking selfies with her fans using a selfie stick when a shoe was hurled from the crowd, followed by another one.

The footwear hit Fayad, the tour in-charge, who registered a complaint with Narayanguda police. A case has been booked under section 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means) of IPC and the shoe chucker was arrested.

The actress had another engagement to attend in Kondapur later, which went smoothly.
