Uncle sexually assaults minor in Ghatkesar

Hyderabad: A minor was sexually assaulted by her uncle at her residence at Brookbond Colony in Ghatkesar.
A few days back, the mother of the victim went out with her relatives, leaving her two daughters, aged 13 years and 12 years, in the house. Their uncle, who is a lorry driver, was also in the house at that time.
Taking the advantage of the situation, Baba Shafaruddin sexually assaulted the elder girl. He also threatened the younger girl of dire consequences if she revealed the incident to anyone, said Ghatkesar inspector, Raghuveer Reddy.
Family members lodged a complaint with the police two days after the incident. The Ghatkesar police has registered a case under the POCSO Act.
The police is making efforts to nab the accused, who is absconding.
