Hyderabad: Telangana state Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has spent Rs 6 crore on heli-hopping to various districts since September 2014.

The AP Aviation Corporation had arranged for a helicopter for the CM, which was stationed at the Begumpet airport from September 15 to December 31, 2014. Special chief secretary to Telangana government and industries secretary K. Pradeep Chandra issued orders on Wednesday stating that the expenditure towards hiring a helicopter for one month was approximately Rs 2 crore and the entire expenditure incurred so far had been around Rs 6 crore.

Mr Chandra issued orders on Sunday releasing Rs 4.92 crore to the Telangana Aviation Corporation towards hiring of helicopters/aircraft for the CM and other VVIP tour programmes in Telangana.

Mr Rao has been conducting aerial surveys of the city and districts every week to identify suitable lands for various projects. He took the pharma industrialists along with him by arranging two helicopters to examine lands for the Pharma City on the city outskirts.

Aerial surveys were also done to identify lands for the Cinema City. Meanwhile, another Rs 15 lakh was released to set up additional CCTV cameras at the CM’s camp office in Begumpet.
