Hyderabad: An employee of an MNC who had been sexually harassing women on the IT corridor for the past month was nabbed by the police because of his distinctive red helmet. Nerishetty Anirudh, while on his way to work, would spank women who were out for morning walks and then speed away. He harassed at least three women in such a manner within less than a month.

One of the women, while recording a complaint, told the police that the biker had been wearing a red coloured helmet and riding a red coloured bike. Cops analysed CCTV footage and managed to trace his workplace. There, they identified him on the basis of his bike and helmet.




Anirudh, a resident of Secunderabad, is a techie who has been working in the IT corridor for over three years and at his current place of work for about two years.

He is the father of a five-month-old. Anirudh, who works the morning shift which begins at 8 am, rides to work every morning on his Bajaj Discover bike which bears the number AP 10BC 3097. After crossing the Gachibowli Flyover, he takes a left turn and enters the road which passes through residential colonies and connects to the IIIT Junction and Wipro Circle. He usually passes through this stretch at around 7.30 am, when people are out on morning walks and jogs.

“He would approach women from behind, spank them and speed away towards the main road. One woman who was harassed by him complained and provided clues about the colour of his bike and helmet, which helped us nab him,” said M. Gangadhar, the Inspector of Gachibowli.

The Inspector said that after Anirudh was picked up, he confessed to his offences. He was arrested and sent to judicial remand.
