Direct DC to withdraw FIR: Manju plea to CEO

HASSAN: The battle between Congress leader and Hassan district in-charge minister A. Manju, and district deputy commissioner Rohini Sindhuri has become a full-fledged war with the minister claiming his image has been tarnished after he was booked for violation of the poll code and the serving of a second notice on him. He has appealed to the Chief Electoral Officer in Bengaluru to direct the DC to withdraw the FIR filed against him.
Accusing Mrs Rohini Sinduri who is also the District Election Officer of filing a false case against him, Mr Manju claimed he had not violated any poll code as alleged by the officials. He is alleged to have violated the code of conduct by continuing in the office allotted to him in his capacity as district in-charge minister at the Inspection Bungalow.
However, Mr Manju contends that he is entitled to discharge his duties in accordance with the applicable code of conduct. He claimed Mrs Rohini was dancing to the tunes of rival political parties and had locked the office without intimating him. He has also requested the CEO to transfer Rohini Sinduri from Hassan to ensure free and fair elections.
Mrs Rohini Sinduri on her part says the explanation to the notice served to the minister was found to be unsatisfactory prompting officials to book a case against him for poll code violation. She adds that the minister should have vacated the office on his own once the code of conduct came into force.
In the complaint to the CEO, Mr Manju speaks about the FIR against him but does not say anything about the second notice served on him by Ms Rohini Sinduri.
