ALAPPUZHA: BJP National executive member P.K. Krishnadas on Thursday alleged that the death of Sreejith in police custody was orchestrated with the knowledge of CPM leadership. Addressing the media at Chengannur, he said the police trapped Sreejith in the case after being pressured to do so by CPM Eranakulam district leadership. This was why CPM leaders, including district secretary P. Rajeev went to the incident spot, he alleged.

He added that police arrested Sreejith without following the procedures regarding arrest of a person at night. That the police is still fabricating evidence and threatening the witness show that it is still conspiring to hide its involvement. "Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan should step down as home minister taking moral responsibility of murder," Mr Krishnadas said.
