Hyderabad: Suspect for rape attempt still at large

Hyderabad: A day after a tuition teacher was booked for an attempt to rape a 12-year-old girl at Meerpet, police is yet to nab the suspect Gopi. Gopi had tried to rape the girl, who came to his home to drink water, on Saturday. Meerpet inspector A. Manmohan said that teams were deputed to Gopi.
Gopi, 20, runs a tutorial centre at HUDA Colony at Balapur crossroads. The girl had lost her mother and her father is missing for more than an year. She studies in a government residential school, and had gone to her aunt’s residence for summer vacation.
On Saturday morning, when her aunt went out on work, the girl went to Gopi’s house asking for water to drink.
As the girl was alone and there were no one in his house, he tried to rape her. When she raised alarm, he left her and fled from the spot.
