Telangana Congress finds scam in pumphouse

Hyderabad: The Congress has alleged Rs 1,000 crore corruption in the construction of an underground pump house in the Palamuru-Rangareddy project.

TPCC treasurer Guduru Narayana Reddy, speaking to the media on Tuesday at the Gandhi Bhavan, questioned that when there is a possibility of constructing an open pump house in the Palamuru-Ranga-reddy Project, why the state government has constructed an underground pump house?

He said that the government should answer this. He rejected the TRS allegation that the Congress is obstructing projects taken up by the government.

He said that for the construction of Baswapur reservoir in Bhongir, under the Kaleswaram project, his family had given 120 acres of land and asked whether this was an obstruction of the project.

He said that the Congress is demanding the implementation of the Land Acquisition Act 2013 while acquiring lands from farmers.

He said that Telangana irrigation minister T. Harish Rao has been repeatedly making allegations against the TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on obstruction of projects which is not correct. He asked the minister to stop making baseless allegations on the Congress.

Meanwhile, former Speaker K.R. Suresh Reddy, TPCC Kisan Cell chairman M. Kodanda Reddy, Telangana CLP deputy leader Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy and others met Chief Secretary S.K. Joshi and demanded more agriculture loans

“There is a lot of difference between loans given by banks and actual investment in crops,” he said, adding that unless the government increases the loan amount the farmers will face problems.

He said without taking long term measures there will be no use giving small amount like donations.
