Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will rush to Delhi on Friday evening after holding the TRS party's state committee meeting to discuss calling early polls. Mr Rao will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and union ministers.

However, the CMO claimed that the CM’s visit was aimed at taking up pending bifurcation-related issues concerning the TS with PM and Union ministers and express resentment over the Centre not granting approvals to pending issues despite repeated representations.





But the CM's sudden trip generated political heat in the state with Mr Rao keeping up the suspense on dissolving the Assembly and going for early polls in December along with Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh etc. Political speculation is rife that Mr Rao may seek the PM's help to ensure early elections in December if the TS Assembly is dissolved next month.

This is Mr Rao's second visit to Delhi to meet the PM in August and the third since June 15. On June 15, he met the PM during the Niti Aayog meeting and he met the PM again on August 5 and submitted a representation on 11 pending issues.

Mr Rao wants to stay in Delhi for 2-3 days to personally monitor pending issues and seek approvals from the Centre such as handing over Bison Polo Grounds, Secunderabad for the Secretariat, new zonal system to give 95 per cent reservations for locals in government jobs etc.

The CM is of the view, that, despite several appeals from the state government, the response from the centre was not on expected lines. The most important is the long pending approval of the new zonal system to be created in Telangana State.

Due to the non-clearance of the zonal system by the Central government, the recruitment of Panchayath Secretaries and others was being delayed. The CM wants the PM to take the personal initiative to see that the Centre gave clearance to the zonal system immediately.

The Chief Advisor to the Government, Rajiv Sharma, has been camping in New Delhi for quite some time monitoring these pending issues. However, the response is not on expected lines. Hence the CM has decided to go personally to New Delhi to monitor the clearances and approvals personally.

The CM has decided to also discuss with the PM and ministers other issues like additional FRBM funds release, release of Rs 450 Crores for the development of backward districts, release of central share of interest on the loans to be given to Women Societies and farmers, bifurcation of the High Court, funds for regional ring road, allotment of defence lands for building secretariat etc.

The CM is of the view that, when he meets the Prime Minister he should make a mention of the "cold-hearted attitude" of the Centre on issues pertaining to the State. The CM will be appealing to the PM to take the initiative to solve the issues at once in the interests of the State.

Chief Secretary S.K Joshi, finance secretary Ramakrishna Rao, CMO principal secretary to CM Narsing Rao will accompany the CM.
