Harikrishna's Cine & Political Journey

Nandamuri Harikrishna was born on September 2nd in 1956. He is survived by two wives, two sons and a daughter. His Elder Son Janaki Ram passed away in 2014 due to the road accident which happened in Munagala.

Harikrishna made his Film Debut as child artiste in the year 1967. He worked as child actor in the films 'Sri Krishnavatharam' and 'Thalla Pellama'. Thereafter, Harikrishna had done roles in 'Thathamma Kala', 'Dana Veera Sura Karna' and 'Sree Ramulaiah'. Director YVS Chowdary was behind his comeback with 'Seetharamaraju', 'Lahiri Lahiri Lahiri Lo' and 'Seethaiah'. He acted in films such as 'Sivaramaraju', 'Swamy', 'Sravanamasam' and 'Tiger Harishchandra Prasad'.

Political Journey of Harikrishna left a mark on AP Politics. He was the one who stood like a backbone for his Father NT Rama Rao when TDP was floated in the early 80s. Touring every nook n corner in the state with Chaitanya Ratham along with his Father is worth praising. Harikrishna served as MLA from 1996 to 1999. He was also the Transport Minister in United AP in the year 1996 but was sacked too soon by then CM Chandrababu Naidu. In 2008, Harikrishna was nominated to Rajya Sabha by TDP. He, however, resigned even before the end of his term opposing AP Bifurcation but continued to be a politburo member of Telugu Desam all these years despite few differences with the party leadership at times. Harikrishna aspired to be Rajya Sabha MP once again after the change of government. TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu, however, denied him any such opportunity since 2014.
