Nandamuri Harikrishna died in a road accident near Anneparthy on Narketpally-Addanki Highway in Nalgonda District on Wednesday. The mishap took place at around 6.30 am at a location 100 km away from Hyderabad.



The Actor-cum-Politician was driving his Toyota Fortuner at a speed of over 150 km per hour to be at the wedding in Nellore by 9 am. Due to over-speeding, The vehicle hit a divider and flipped. The impact is so much that Harikrishna was thrown out of the SUV, resulting in severe chest & head injuries. He was declared dead at Kamineni Hospital in Narketpally after being taken to there in a critical condition.

Who would have thought Harikrishna who drove his father NTR's Chaitanya Ratham in the 80s would pass away in such a manner? He served as AP Transport Minister when NTR became CM for the first time. Even Harikrishna's elder son Janaki Ram died in a road mishap that happened in 2014. Jr NTR got away with minor injuries in the accident which took place while he was returning Hyderabad after 2009 election campaign.

Opposition Leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy expressed shock at the sudden demise of Nandamuri Harikrishna. 'My thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family members. May his soul rest in peace,' he said.
