Hyderabad: The condition of Madhavi, the 18-year-old bride who was attacked by her own father, is very critical, doctors say.

She will have to undergo a 10-hour operation as the nerve connecting the ear to the brain has been cut, resulting in severe injury to the brain and there has been tremendous loss of blood too, say doctors at Yashoda Hospital, where she is being treated.





She will have to be closely monitored for the next 72 hours. Her left hand was cut off and brought to the hospital. Attempts will be made to stitch it back but the bone has also been cracked due to the violent attack.

Madhavi had to wait on the road before the ambulance arrived and doctors suspect that infection from the dust and mud could have set in.

Madhavi tried to protect her husband Sandeep from the onslaught of her father. Sandeep too has a deep cut in the cheek but is stated to be out of danger. He underwent surgery as well.
